Sun And Earth Laundry Detergent Review

by Wendy

Wendy says:

I LOVE Sun & Earth Laundry Detergent. I have allergies to many things, including laundry detergent. So in our home we only use Sun & Earth.

I am very careful not to switch detergents because when I do, it usually triggers an allergic reaction.

Sun & Earth is concentrated, so you don't have to use very much, which I love. It's also eco-friendly, which is probably the biggest thing I love about it. It cleans quite well too. We always pre-treat stains.

And now I can get it at my local grocery store (although it's not widely available and not in every store I shop at). I try to buy it in bulk when it's on sale. When I find a sale it's typically a dollar or two off.

I also use Sun & Earth dryer sheets. They have a really pleasant orange smell which doesn't bother me.

Thanks Wendy for sharing your review.

This is a brand I am becoming aware of, as I research more natural and eco-friendly laundry detergents. I am glad to hear it worked well for you.

(You can read Wendy's explanation of why she switched to Sun & Earth detergent here, because of an allergy to a previously used detergent, Cheer.

So what about you? I would love to hear your reviews of this, or any other laundry detergent brand that you liked or disliked. You can share your laundry detergent reviews here, and I'll add them to the site.

Sun And Earth Detergent Review - Free And Clear Unscented Version

by Danica
(Overland Park, KS)

Danica says:

I've chosen to use Sun & Earth 2x Free and Clear Unscented Laundry detergent because of extreme problems with sensitive skin.

I have tried other brands, sure. There have been few successes, and many more failures with those attempts, so I have personally chosen to stick with this brand, because I think it is worth the cost.

I also like that they do not test on animals and the cleaner is non-toxic and free of allergens. This is great news as it keeps me from getting that itchy feeling other brands leave me with due to sensitive skin.

I'm actually not the only person in my home with sensitive skin either. My husband and kids also have this issue, and the detergent works well for them too.

Granted this detergent is unscented, which I prefer as I have found the perfumed brands cause rashes, I can still always smell a freshness to my clothes no matter how old or worn they may be.

In addition, another important factor in sticking with Sun & Earth is that it has gotten rid of dirt and grass stains on more than one occasion. As a parent it is a must that the detergent I choose makes those stains disappear. That is why I really like it.

Taylor says:

Thanks Danica for sharing your review.

I'm glad you've found a hypoallergenic laundry detergent that works well for you and your family. As you said, there can be a lot of trial and error involved, so once you find something that works well I understand why you'd want to continue sticking with it.

Has anyone else used this environmentally friendly laundry detergent? If so, please share your laundry detergent review here, to tell me your experiences with it. (You can also share reviews of other brands too.)

good for eczema
by: Joann

I have 3 kids, all of them have eczema. My 2 boys are only affected by soaps or detergents. My daughter however is sensitive to foods, soaps, detergents, pollen, grass, animals, etc. She actually has broken out the day she was born from the newborn clothing and blankets in the hospital. After many detergents failing and causing reactions the only one my 2 boys can use is All Free & Clear.

My daughter has been using Sun & Earth and can use the citrus scented so at least hers can have a fresh smells opposed to unscented.

We have recently tried Method Clear and Free and so far no reaction. This is great for us because it is cheaper than Sun & Earth and coupons are available.

We used Sun & Earth for approximately 8 years before it was available in stores so we had to order direct from the company. They do also have other products that I use to clean her room such as all purpose cleaning spray, hand soap (smells great!), and dish soap. Now she can help with the dishes! Sun and Earth is what I have recommended to other family members as eczema is genetic on my in laws side. They have all had success.
