Shout Wipes And Shout Laundry Products Review

by Kathryn

Kathryn has provided a review of Shout Wipes, and also the original Shout stain remover.

Kathryn says:

SHOUT! is probably THE greatest stain remover of all time. I always have a big spray bottle of it sitting next to the washer.

I’m not sure if they have any other versions of SHOUT!, but I always use the original scent and formula in the spray bottle form.

I much prefer the spray technique to the brands that use squeeze-top bottles, as the liquid just squishes out in a big glob instead of the thin, uniform layer of foam a spray bottle delivers, which is easiest for me when I use it.

Stains that I’ve used it on personally have been grass, ketchup, grease, syrup, cough syrup, and other random food stains.

SHOUT! has never failed to remove any of them, and when I worked at Dairy Queen, stains were a big issue.

One of the best things about SHOUT! is the portable SHOUT! wipes.

You can carry a couple with you in your purse, they’re about the size of a wet-wipe you get from restaurants now and again, and any time an unexpected stain rears it’s ugly head, you can just whip out the wipe and give it a good rub.

Most stains disappear in about ten minutes, and you don’t have to worry about letting the stain soak when you finally get home.

Neither anyone in my family, nor I have ever experienced any skin or allergic reactions when using SHOUT!, and we’ve been using it for years.

Most of my friends and family also use SHOUT!. I know stain fighters like Oxi-Clean don’t work at all, and I would buy SHOUT! over Oxi-Clean or Spray’N’Wash any day.

SHOUT! is also reasonably priced. Since it comes in a spray bottle, the amount of one spray usually covers your average stain, so the bottle lasts for months, unless you’ve got kids, then it would probably go a little faster!

Taylor says:

Thanks Kathryn for your review of Shout wipes and the original Shout stain remover.

Speaking as a Mom of 3 I will confirm no matter what stain remover you're using, it will get used up more quickly with kids!

Kindergarten Teacher Uses These For Kids' Spills

by SR101 Reader

I am a kindergarten teacher and kids get spills all the time.

It upsets me when parents tell their kids not to get dirty. Really!! They are 5.

Anyway one day a boy in my class was so upset about a spill on his shirt so I took out the Shout Wipes I keep in my drawer for me and used it on his shirt. The boy stopped crying.

I finally decided to send a note home about telling your child not to get dirty because of all the anxiety they were causing their children.

Anyway I agree Shout is the best.

When my daughter was a baby she scooted on one side instead of crawling.

She always had lots of dirt on one side of her clothes. Shout always did the trick.

Disappointed By Shout Wipes: What Did I Do Wrong?

by Taylor

I know a lot of people love Shout Wipes, including my Mom who is a huge advocate of this portable stain remover.

If she's told me once she's told me a hundred times I should carry these little towelettes around with me for spot emergencies, and even went so far as to give me some.

Therefore, when my son dipped his shirt sleeve in spaghetti sauce while eating (how do kids always seem to do that?) I thought I had the perfect opportunity to document how these little wipes work in action.

Unfortunately, at least for me, the results were less than stellar.

Almost as soon as it happened I jumped up from the dinner table and had him change shirts, so I could test the product just like you would in real life. I didn't have him wear it though while I tried to remove the stain -- he was still shoveling in spaghetti after all. :)

As you can see from my collage of pictures of before, during and after, the product got out some of the spot, but not all of it. I had basically exhausted all of the "liquid" within the wipe which was sucked up by the thick t-shirt it seemed, and gave up.

So I just sprayed a laundry pretreater on it, and threw it in the laundry basket for later washing and called it a day. If I'd been out and about I couldn't have done this step until I got home, and he would have walked around with a big wet spot on his sleeve from the wipe!

Overall, this test didn't give me a great impression of these wipes.

Now, my Mom insists that the problem was that my son had so much sauce on his sleeve, and truthfully he did have quite a mess all over, so maybe it was just too much for a spot treater like this.

Plus, I wonder how this product would do on other fabrics that aren't thick cotton, which is what this t-shirt was made of? Perhaps another fabric or weave may have been more amenable to the treatment.

I haven't quite given up on this product yet because my Mom is so adamant about how much she loves them, but I haven't seen much of an advantage to it versus the Tide To Go pen yet either.

I would love to hear from even more people who've used this product. I know there are people that swear by them. I'd love to hear what fabrics and types of stains it has worked for you to remove, and any tips and tricks you use to make the wipes work well for you.

You can share your laundry pre treater reviews here or read others that have already been submitted, both for this and lots of other brands.

Shout Wipes Portable Stain Treater Worked Well On Upholstery

by Taylor (well really her Mom)

Just as I mentioned above, my Mom loves this product, although I was a bit disappointed by it.

When she told me this story, with yet another way she loved these little things I just had to pass it along all my readers, since she was so happily amazed by what these little wipes did.

Recently my kids went to stay with her and my Dad for several days, and once they left my Mom noticed several globs of smeared and melted chocolate on a nice upholstered kitchen chair, no doubt left by one of my little ones.

She grabbed a wipe and set to work, and guess what, it worked! The stain was completely removed.

I asked her why she didn't take a picture, and she said, "oops, I guess I should have!"

I hadn't considered the possibility that this product might work as a spot remover for upholstery, but I guess it does. You can read more upholstery cleaner reviews here, or share your own.

Further, you can read more tips for removing chocolate here.

The travel size Shout Wipes ruined a pair of brand new $80 dark jeans by removing the color completely. DO NOT USE.
