Lisa shared how to remove red wine stain from upholstery, which she used to successfully remove her own stain using items you can find in your own home.
Lisa says:
We had a rather large spill of red wine on my white/light blue cotton upholstery.
I blotted quickly, then submerged the cushion covers in water.
Next, based on the recommendations of a website, I mixed 1 part hydrogen peroxide and 1 part Dawn Dish Liquid and painted it with my fingers across all of the affected areas and let it sit for about 10 minutes, and then rinsed.
A miracle! The wine was almost completely gone. What is left in two small spots of pink looks like a small shadow and will not be noticeable.
No impact on the color of the fabric. Good luck!

Thanks Lisa for sharing how you removed red wine stains from your upholstery.
I would caution, however, in the future not to submerge any upholstered items in water, because it can make the inside of the upholstered item wet, and this can be hard to dry back out completely before mold and mildew form. You can learn more about how to clean upholstery here.
I always love to hear more tips for how to use home remedies and common household ingredients to remove stains.
