Scrubbing Bubbles Bathroom Cleaner Review - I Was Skeptical But I Love It!

by Ashlee
(Pittsburgh, PA)

Ashlee has shared her Scrubbing Bubbles Bathroom Cleaner review and experiences.

Ashlee says:

My freshman year of college my roommate insisted we buy the foaming spray Scrubbing Bubbles to clean our bathroom. I had never used Scrubbing Bubble products before, so I was a little skeptical. But I loved them, and continue to use it to this day.

I think they clean just as well as other major cleaners (Windex, 409, etc.). However, the bubbles make cleaning fun! Well, as fun as cleaning can be, that is. ;)

Cleaning can get really boring. But when I use this product I kinda enjoy myself. I like that it covers surfaces evenly and it is easy to see where you have sprayed. In addition, I think that I have to scrub less with this aerosol spray than with normal trigger sprays.

I have heard other people complain that they don't like Scrubbing Bubbles. I think that is because they expect the bubbles to do ALL of the scrubbing. With really tough stains, you do need to put a little muscle into it. But, with general upkeep it really is just spray and wipe.

I use the foaming bathroom cleaner on almost every surface in my bathroom (not the mirror though) and it works great on all of them. This includes the bathtub, sink, counter and even my toilet.

Taylor says:

Thanks Ashlee for sharing your Scrubbing Bubbles bathroom cleaner review.

I think you've identified a very important point about almost any cleaner -- it is easier to use them regularly for cleaning then trying to clean really neglected items with them.

I actually have lots of reviews of this product, because it is very popular (see below for more). However, I'm always looking for more. You can share your bathroom cleaner review here, for this or any other brand, sharing what you like, or don't, about it and why. You can also read other reviews which have already been submitted for lots of different brands and varieties.

Scrubbing Bubbles Foaming Bathroom Cleaner Review - Not Just Used To Clean The Bathroom

by Michelle Maynard
(Central Florida)

Michelle has provided this review of Scrubbing Bubbles Foaming Bathroom Cleaner, and also shared all the additional uses she has found for cleaning things around her home with it, besides just her bathroom.

Michelle says:

I absolutely love my Scrubbing Bubbles Foaming Bathroom Cleaner. I have been using this product for well over ten years.

Throughout that time I have tried various other cleaning products and nothing has been able to beat it.

I have very sensitive skin so harsh cleaners such as Comet have always broken me out and bleach burns my skin.

The Scrubbing Bubbles have never done that to me. There is virtually no effort on my part, I just spray it on and wipe it down. Even with the dirtiest messes like after bathing the dogs Scrubbing Bubbles just melts away the dirt and grime.

I have a two year old so getting things done quickly is an essential around here. This product makes it possible.

It even works great on steel car rims. It just melts off the old brake dust and road dirt and leaves them sparkly and clean.

I have also had to use it in a pinch on a carpet stain and it didn't hurt my carpet at all and took the juice right up.

I have been amazed by the uses I have found for a simple bathroom cleaner in other area of the house.

My husband used it to clean greasy messes in the garage and it worked great for that too.

The possibilities really are endless.

The only thing I suggest is that if you are going to use it on something that is dark colored or bright colored such as fabric or carpet do a test spot in an inconspicuous spot first just to be safe.

Taylor says:

Thanks Michelle for your review of Scrubbing Bubbles Foaming Bathroom Cleaner, and also telling us all the additional uses you've found for the product.

I would caution everyone, however, that before you use any cleaning product in a way not directed on the instructions that you do so with care and caution, because you don't want to ruin something by trying to clean it in an inappropriate manner.

I would love to hear from others who've found additional uses for this cleaning product though, to get more ideas!

***Update: Here's an idea from Zak. He says: "It works great on boats to get rid of dirt collecting on fiberglass decks." ***End Update

Lemon Scented Scrubbing Bubbles Foaming Bathroom Cleaner OK But Doesn't Clean Tough Dirt As Well As I'd Like

by Tabatha
(Newark, NJ)

Tabatha has shared her review of lemon scented Scrubbing Bubbles Foaming Bathroom Cleaner.

Tabatha says:

Scrubbing Bubbles commercials make you want to go right out and buy them to see those little guys work their magic. Unfortunately, in my experience, they don't work quite as well as they're made out to be.

I have used Scrubbing Bubbles foaming cleaner all over my bathrooms, including on my tile, toilets, and bathroom counter tops, but I mainly use it on my bathtub for dirt on the sides.

While the product can clean minor surface debris it does not seem to work all that well on tougher stains like the commercials imply.

The scent I used was lemon. It did smell fresh in the bathroom, and gave a clean feeling, but it didn't make up for the lack of cleaning of tough dirt and grime. I found I had to scrub a lot even with this product.

Now, don't get me wrong, for light cleaning I like Scrubbing Bubbles pretty well. However, I would just caution others not to go out and buy it thinking it will remove your toughest stains because in my experience it did not.

Taylor says:

Thanks Tabatha for sharing your experiences with Scrubbing Bubbles bathroom cleaner.

I am always interested in what products people have found work well for tough dirt and grime, especially for the sides of their bathtub, since this can get be a tough area to keep clean. You can share your bathtub cleaning tips here, or read other ideas, tips and tricks already submitted.

Scrubbing Bubbles Bathroom Cleaner Used To Clean Employee Restroom

by Leah

Leah shared how she used several Scrubbing Bubbles products recently, mainly the Foaming Bathroom Cleaner, but also the soap scum remover and toilet cleaning gel.

Leah says:

I recently used Scrubbing bubbles to clean the employee restroom at my place of business. I'm sorry to have to mention this, but we all know how terrible bathrooms can smell, and this place was an olfactory nightmare.

I found the foaming bathroom cleanser to be the perfect match for the odor which seemed to be taking over the small bathroom.

It also made the outside of the toilet shine like new and the floor glisten. And best of all, I can walk into the bathroom now and it smells delightful!

For the inside of the toilet I used the new Scrubbing Bubbles toilet cleaning gel, and I was really pleased with it too.

These bathroom cleaning products have made a wonderful difference in the state of my bathroom and my employees have noticed. I personally think it has helped improve morale and definitely helped to eliminate the risk of bacterial infection in the workplace.

In addition, in my home, I recently tried the Scrubbing Bubbles soap scum remover. It worked wonders for cleaning the tub! It also worked great for the sink too.

Taylor says:

Thanks for sharing your review Leah.

Has anyone else used either the soap scum remover or the toilet cleaning gel? If so, I would love to hear your reviews too.

Complaint About Leaking And Non-Spraying Cans

by Peggy Hull

Peggy shared her complaint about this products cans.

Peggy says:

I have a complaint about this product that I purchased at BJ's Wholeale Store.

The bottom of the can has these numbers, K106 626633 2217.

I had this can sitting in my cupboard in a box and when I went for it, it was sitting in all the liquid from the can. It must have had a leak somewhere.

Normally I would just forget about it but about 6 months ago I had one can that I couldn't spray.

I had to throw the whole can out and I just forgot about it.

Your product is not cheap so I want to be reimbursed. Thank you.

Taylor says:

Sorry to hear you are having problems with this can Peggy. It is always frustrating when you spend money on a product and then can't even use it because of dispensing problems like the ones you've experienced.

Please note that I am not associated with this company, but am an independent website, and therefore I cannot assist you in getting a reimbursement, but instead you'll have to contact the company for this.

I would be curious, however, to hear from other readers to find out if they've also had problems with this can, either with not spraying properly or leaking. If you've had such issues please share your experiences with me here.

Scrubbing Bubbles Bathroom Cleaner Worked Miracles On A Nasty Bathroom

by Tameka
(Buffalo, NY)

Tameka shared how this product helped clean up a truly nasty bathroom in a mobile home.

Tameka says:

I've used this spray in my own home for years, and love it.

Then, my husband and I purchased a mobile home that had been owned by hoarders. They had been out of it for 8 months but left their cats there able to go in and out. So the bathroom had been used as a cat box for them.

Scrubbing Bubbles was the only thing that would cut through the mess and remove the smell. I used it not only on the tub, but also the toilet, sink and counters. When I was done the bathroom was perfect with no odor. I was amazed at how well it cuts through everything I throw at it.

In my own home I have also used it to clean my stainless steel kitchen cart, and my metal countertop, and it just shines afterwards.

I have also used it on my plastic laundry sink and it cleaned it beautifully. It just needed to be rinsed a little extra afterward.

I would highly recommend this cleaner to everyone. It is one of the best and most versatile cleaners I have ever used. I have been using Scrubbing Bubbles for over a decade and still have not found anything better.

Taylor says:

Thanks Tameka for sharing how you've used Scrubbing Bubbles bathroom cleaner.

Wow, that must have been a pretty gross bathroom. What is it about cats loving to go potty in the bathtub? I actually got a question a while back regarding a cat feces stain inside the bathtub, so this must be a rather common problem. I'm glad you found something that worked well to clean it up.

As you can see from all the reviews of this product, it in general is pretty popular, although not everyone totally loves it. If you've used this product I would love to hear from you too, sharing how it has worked for you to clean your bathroom.

You can share your bathroom cleaner review here, for this or any other product, telling me your experiences and opinions about it. You can also read even more reviews that have already been submitted.

In addition, something I have noticed that no one has really mentioned about this product, but which some people may find important, is that it is an antibacterial cleaner, advertised to kill 99% of common bacteria.

In addition, it is advertised as a soap scum cleaner. I would love to hear from some reviewers sharing how it has worked on their soap scum, to know if this is really a good product for this or not.

use in the kitchen too
by: Beckie

I can say that spraying Scrubbing Bubbles foam cuts anything disgusting in the kitchen.

Another alternative use - clean stainless steel sink
by: Jean

I have tried this at home myself and that is to clean my large stainless steel sink. And does it work wonders! I tried so many things and they never worked. I was really regretting even buying this sink. I applied a even coat all over the sink until it was covered and let it do it's magic for about 15 minutes. With fingers crossed I rinsed the sink with water and it gleamed. I have used this many times since and always the same great results. I have also found that I only need to let it set for about 5 minutes. So that is also a plus.

At 52 years old, trying Scrubbing Bubbles for the first time!
by: L. Turner

My sister in law told me she used Scrubbing Bubbles and I never thought it really worked. I am 52 years old and am trying it for the first time in my life. I LOVE it! It melts the soap scum and mildew off my shower doors like magic. I sprayed it in my tub and my daughter and I were must amazed at how shiny and clean the tub is. I will be replacing my other cleaners with Scrubbing Bubbles today! Why did I wait so long to try this product?

trouble after long use
by: Steve

After two years it corroded ruined my Delta shower controls.

Can't rinse the bubbles away
by: Pam

I've used this product since they came out with it, and noticed the last couple of years that it is almost impossible to rinse away the foamy bubble and get them out of the scrubber or sponge. I have always had a water softener, so that has not changed. Why is this stuff so foamy you can't get it to wipe away anymore? I am not going to purchase any more of it because it takes too much work to rinse and wipe it off of everything.

can leaked for me too
by: Judy Schenk

I also had a can of Scrubbing Bubbles leak. Ruined my 800.00 vanity. I do not have the can # because I tossed it. Do not store the can where it can cause damage. Ugh

Changed the formula
by: Anonymous

The name has changed to Bathroom Grime Fighter instead of Foaming Bathroom Cleaner. It does not work as well as the old formula did; don't know why it was changed. It says it is a citrus scent, but definitely does not smell lemony at all. I switched to Kaboom, as it seems to do a better job than the new Scrubbing Bubbles Bathroom Grime Fighter.

Doesn't work anymore on fiberglass tub
by: Anonymous

Ever since you removed the normal odor of your product it will NOT remove soap scum from my fiberglass tubs. Very upsetting as I've used this product for years. Looking for new product.

it has changed
by: Sherri

I've used Dow Bathroom Cleaner for over 20 years on many many things and testified and swore by it. Then about a year ago I noticed that it was not cleaning as well. I don't know what you changed about it but I'm disappointed. I've stopped buying it because of that. Sorry to see the change.

Aerosol cans won’t spray
by: Anonymous

I’ve tried 3 cans now and none will spray properly. No QC? W

don't spray well, doesn't work like it used to
by: Isabelle

Funny, I thought it was just me but it doesn't work like it used to. I also have issues getting it to spray properly. I bought a three pack and they all don't spray well.

Problem with sprayer nozzle
by: Jill

My half full can stopped spraying. Tried hot water in nozzle. Nothing.

leaking out
by: Martha

I also had the same experience with the penetrating foam Scrubbing Bubbles. I purchased a multipack and put them in an organizer under my sink. Later I noticed that two cans had completely leaked out and the third can was leaking out and had lost the pressure in the can so it would not spray. The chemical leaked out of the organizer and messed up the bottom of my cabinet. I am working with J&J now on a resolution.

leaking the entire contents
by: Anonymous

We are also having problems with the Scrubbing Bubbles Bathroom Cleaners leaking the entire contents at least 3 times.

past few cans would not spray
by: Amy

Have been using for years. Worked well. However, the past few cans purchased would not spray. Loved the cleaner, but am going to change products because of this.

leaks out the bottom
by: Jen

I have also had the issue on the last three cans of Scrubbing Bubbles that I bought where it leaks out the bottom. I think I may have also bought it in bulk from Sam’s, but I don’t know that that has anything to do with it.

cans will not spray
by: Laurie

I do like it when the can sprays, but I just had to throw away three cans that are not spraying. I wondered if there was a secret to get them to work. I'm not happy with that at all and will probably not buy it in the future.

not a clean clean. reconsider.
by: Anonymous

Scrubbing Bubbles leaves residue. It has to be very thoroughly rinsed and wiped or else your surface is covered in a white slop residue. It means that cleaning with Scrubbing Bubbles is more difficult than other cleaners. If you don't believe me run your hand over different areas of the surface you think is clean. Some parts are, other parts feel slick. That's the bubbles that didn't easily rinse off.

spots now on my new quartz vanity
by: Anonymous

I accidentally sprayed Scrubbing Bubbles on a fairly new quartz vanity. It now has the spots from spraying all over the vanity. I've tried several things including the special cleaner for stone countertops with no avail. Any suggestions?
