Brillo Pads Review: How I Use These Steel Wool Soap Pads

by Jan
(Texas)

Jan shared her Brillo pads review, and how she uses this product in her home.

Jan says:

When there’s a really dirty pot or pan that I have to scrub I always use one of these steel wool soap pads.

These pot scrubbers consist of steel wool mixed with soap, giving everyone a one stop solution for scrubbing their dirty dishes.

Considering how cheap they are every kitchen sink should have one nearby as, at least in my experience of cleaning dishes, there is always one pot in a batch of dishes that just will not scrub clean using my regular dish cloth.

In one instance I had let a pot soak overnight to loosen up the dried cheese sauce that had been left in the pot for a couple days. The next day, while doing dishes, I tried to wipe down the pot but some of the cheese sauce remained and just would not come out.

Putting a Brillo Pad to the task ensured that the cheese left the surface without much effort from me.

No scratches were left on the pot or anything.

As a tough scrubber these little red pads cannot be beaten.

Thanks so much for sharing your review of this product Jan.

I will note that while lots of people use this product for cleaning pots and pans you should not use it for cleaning non-stick surfaces!

In addition, make sure to test on an inconspicuous area before using this product on delicate or highly polished surfaces, to make sure it does not scratch them.

A similar product is SOS pads so you can read reviews and uses for this product as well, if you're interested.

I would love to hear from others who've used the Brillo brand, sharing how you like it, and how you use it for cleaning areas of your home.

Further, there have been some complaints that with SOS pads that they rust, so I am wondering if that is also an issue for this brand.
