Bold Detergent Powder Review - Crystal Rain And White Lily Scent

by Donna
(San Francisco, CA)

Donna has shared her Bold laundry detergent review, of the 2 in 1 variety found in the UK.

Donna says:

I use Bold Crystal Rain and White Lily in powder form on occasions when I forget to bring my regular laundry detergent with me to the laundromat.

I like how it gives my clothes a fresh smelling scent, especially the moment when I open the lid to the washing machine and first smell it.

It gets rid of most of stains like, for example, grass, mud, and sauces except the occasional blood and curry that won’t come off.

I like Bold’s scent and how it removes most stains, but I won’t switch it for my regular laundry detergent.

One major problem for me is that when I use Bold to wash my clothes too often my skin gets irritated and I get itchy all over. Once in a while is okay, but no more than 1 or 2 times in a month.

Also another thing I don’t like about Bold is that it doesn’t preserve clothes’ color very well. My clothes tend to fade more in each wash. Unless they’re jeans, I don’t want the colors to fade on any other of my clothes cause I’ll just end up spending more money.

Taylor says:

Thanks Donna for your review.

It sounds to me like you are experiencing a laundry detergent allergy when you use this detergent, which makes me believe it isn't a great choice for you, not matter how great it smells.

Does anyone else use Bold to wash their clothes? If you do you can share your review here.

In addition, you can share your laundry detergent reviews here for any other brand, telling me what you like or dislike about it, and why.

I Absolutely Love Bold 2 in 1 Lavender & Camomile

by Paulie Doodel

Paulie says:

I absolutely love love LOVE Bold 2 in 1 Lavender & Camomile laundry detergent. and use both the liquid and powder tabs in it!!

I mainly use it on my bedding/towels and find the lavender and camomile perfect for this purpose, as I find the lavender fragrance really beautiful!!

I also use with it Lenor Fabric Softener in Moonlight Harmony (Purple Colour) to give it some extra softness, and fragrance and found they work brilliantly together!!

Even my friends that stayed for the weekend ended up asking me what detergent my bedding and towels had been washed in, as both the fresh fragrance and softness really impressed!!

I use Persil Bio, Non-Bio, and Coloured + Lenor Summer Breeze on my everyday washing, and the Bold Lavender & Camomile + Lenor Moonlight Harmony on bedding/towels etc!!

Honestly it's just fantastic stuff, and would deffo tell others to try it out for themselves!! I rate the Bold 10/10 and I'm really pleased with it!!

Taylor says:

Thanks so much for your review Paulie.

Has anyone else used this detergent? If so, I'd love to hear your opinions of it as well. You can tell me your opinions here and I'll add them to the page.

It's a good detergent overall
by: Liam

I was brought up on this particular variant of Bold (I am from the UK). It is a good detergent, and as Donna said, the smell is amazing.

There has been slight tweak to the Bold "blue" over the years (scent names and smells have been tweaked over the years - crystal rain and white lily is now called lotus flower and lily, but largely it has always smelt the same).

*Bold UK has a full line of different coloured boxes and scents, which are tweaked all the time.

Also, over here in the UK our Bold detergent line is a 2in1 detergent with softener built in (don't know if this is the same in the US).

It cleans great and smells brilliant, despite suffering slight sensitivities, never had issues with this, plus, as the softener in this is clay based, not fat based like liquids and sheets. This stuff is not likely to clog pores/cause acne. And it is the ONLY brand of softener (albeit in a detergent) recommended for use on towels as it does not affect absorbency.

The softness it gives though is not 100 percent, especially when compared to the standard separate softeners, but overall not bad.
