How To Remove Pencil Lead Stains From Corian

Pencil lead stains seem to smear and never come all the way out.

Unfortunately, NerdMom, from the Nerd Family Blog found out the hard way that emptying the pencil sharpener out over her white Corian countertop left a big smeary stain when some of the shavings spilled.

What worked for her was a little Comet on a wet dish rag. It cleaned that stain right up.

The reason is most likely that there is some grit in Comet, so while it may do the trick also be careful not to scratch your countertop in the process.

what I use

Glass stove top cleaner, stains gone.

I used dish detergent to remove pencil marks
by: Janet

An organic dish detergent worked better than vinegar or a mix of vinegar with this detergent and water. We applied the dish detergent directly, and liberally, and rubbed, then removed this amount and repeated as each time, more of the stain came away, until it was finally gone.
