White Bar Soap To Pretreat Laundry Stains - Easy Peasy!

Jessica shared how white bar soap has become her favorite laundry stain remover over on Household Management 101's Facebook wall, which is SR101's sister site. It was such a great tip I just had to share it!

Jessica says:

I haven't done homemade laundry soap for a while, but I've totally dumped my spray and wash pretreater/stain stuff for a bar of white soap.

So far, any bar I've used has worked on serious stains like berries and chocolate and mud.

My kids are rough on clothes and they've ruined so many things with stains I couldn't get out... I just rub on some wet white soap, rub it in good, rinse it and put it in the laundry.

The berry incident kept fading up till I washed and then it was gone. Wish I'd figured this out years ago.

Although Jessica's tip is specifically about white bar soap, I believe you could use just about any laundry bar soap as an easy and cheap pretreater as well. For example, I've gotten several reviews of Fels Naptha soap which say it has worked well for removing laundry stains in much the same way.

Has anyone used a white soap, such as Ivory, or any other bar soap, such as those designed for your laundry like Fels Naptha, Zote, Sunlight, Kirk's, etc. as a stain remover? If so, please share your laundry stain removers review here, sharing which one you use and how it works for you, and what types of stains you've removed with it.
