Mrs. Meyers Clean Day Laundry Detergent Review - Lavender Scent

by Brin
(Denver, Colorado)

Brin has provided her Mrs. Meyers Clean Day laundry detergent review.

Brin says:

I have been using the lavender scent of this brand for the past two months.

Previously I was using a homemade formula. I tell you this because the homemade formula produced soap rings in my washing machine.

I had read about Mrs. Meyers products on the internet and visited the homepage. I decided to try it.

After one use of Mrs. Meyers detergent the soap ring was gone!

Of course that is not the only benefit of this detergent. It gets my clothes incredibly clean and I don't have to use that much.

I only use half a cap full and my clothes come out clean with a wonderful lavender scent. I hang my clothes on a rack to dry and my drying room emits a heavenly lavender scent as I pass it by.

Mrs. Meyers is reasonably priced since you don't have to use a lot per load. It is an all around favorite. The scent isn't obtrusive or overpowering. It is just right.

Taylor says:

Thanks Brin for sharing your review of this product.

I know that a lot of people love the scent of Mrs. Meyers products, which are designed for aromatherapy. They have lots of products that corresponding scents too, so you can have the same fragrance in many areas of your home, if desired, which is something lots of people like.

So, has anyone else used Mrs. Meyers detergent to wash their clothes? If so, please share your detergent reviews here, telling me which scent you used, and how you liked (or disliked) it.

Mrs. Meyer's Laundry Detergent Review - Geranium Scent

by Jessa
(Seattle)

Jessa says:

I consider myself an environmentalist for many reasons, and try to avoid using chemicals both for the sake of my family's health and for the sake of the planet's health.

I used Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day laundry soap in geranium scent on the advice of a friend who is very into organics and environmentalism too. I looked into the products and liked the idea of biodegradable soaps that don’t harm the environment and not putting chemicals on my family’s clothing.

I ordered online from the website and received my product sooner than the estimated shipping time, which was a plus.

The price I paid was comparable to what I would pay for a premium brand of laundry soap at the store, and my friend also gave me a coupon code to use for $1.00 off.

The only problem with the price was that shipping was about $12.00 for one item, which I thought was a little excessive.

The geranium scent of the laundry detergent was a really fresh smell without being too overpowering. The clothes didn’t really come out of the dryer smelling like geranium though, although the scent does linger a bit in an inoffensive way — especially if you hang the clothes to dry rather than use the dryer.

Geranium may be one of my favorite fragrances ever, so this made this least favorite chore a little more enjoyable. As for cleaning power, Mrs. Meyer’s brand got our clothes just as clean as my usual Tide or Gain.

I did still have to use a stain treater to get out some grease and oil stains on my husband’s clothes, but the detergent cleaned up mud and grass stains without a problem.

Also, since I have a husband and four boys, all of who get really stinky and dirty on a regular basis, I was worried about this natural soap being able to get the clothes smelling clean, but I never had a problem with lingering odors.

I did not notice any fading, but I wash all of my clothes in cold water, so that usually isn’t a problem -- I don’t know whether to attribute that to the laundry detergent being gentle or the cold water, or a combination of both.

I did have some concern that the use of essential oils would somehow leave an oily residue on our clothing, but that also turned out not to be the case.

Our clothes came out of the dryer feeling soft, and no one in my household from my 1-year-old granddaughter up to my 40-year-old husband had any kind of skin sensitivity issues from the ingredients in this product.

Overall, I would recommend this product with the caution that it while it is more ecofriendly than most commercial detergents; it is not the most “green” detergent one can buy.

However, it does clean well, comes in several pleasant scents, is made from natural ingredients, and contains no phosphates or ammonia.

Taylor says:

Thanks Jessa for your opinions and review.

If you decide you like this brand of laundry detergent, and want to buy more of it, I would suggest buying it from another place online which doesn't charge such high shipping. Of course, if you can buy it in a store you don't have to worry about shipping, but it is not always available readily at this time. I have found that Amazon generally has good prices on Mrs. Meyer's laundry detergent if you buy from them, so you can get free shipping for orders above $25.

Mrs. Meyers Clean Day Rosemary Laundry Detergent Review

by Juanita
(Casper, Wyoming)

Juanita has shared her Mrs. Meyer's Rosemary laundry detergent review, which is a new scent that Mrs. Meyer's has just recently released.

Juanita says:

Buying green cleaning supplies are important to me, mainly because they are environment friendly.

They also are important because I have small children and I am pregnant, so I want to use these products because they have a soft scent, but no chemical smell.

I truly enjoyed using Mrs. Meyers Rosemary laundry detergent. I will probably continue buying this product in other fragrances as well.

I purchase a 64 oz bottle from their website, since I cannot find it in stores yet.

It only takes a small amount of the detergent to clean a fair sized load of laundry, and it leaves the clothes smelling fresh. The ingredients were all natural fragrances, and were gentle enough to use on my children's clothing.

I felt the detergent was a good amount for the price, and it can wash up to 64 loads with the size I purchased.

The rosemary fragrance was the biggest selling point. My mother recommended I search online for eco-friendly products, and Mrs. Meyer's site is the first that I came across. I'm glad I did.

Taylor says:

Mrs. Meyers Sunflower Laundry Detergent Lost Scent When Clothes Dried On Line

by Anita Quillen
(Centerville, Tennessee)

Anita says:

When I first opened the bottle of detergent it had a wonderful scent and I added it to my laundry with a half a cup of fabric softener.

After my laundry was done I hung my clothes on the the line to dry.

However, that wonderful scent was gone when my clothes were dry.

They did feel very soft though.

So will the scent be there if it is put in the dryer, or do I need to get another Mrs. Meyers scent?

Taylor says:

Thanks for sharing your experience Anita.

I'm not personally familiar with this scent, and cannot use scented products in my laundry for allergy reasons, so I'm not sure if this happens with Mrs. Meyers products generally, or just this scent. Sorry!

Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day Baby Blossom Laundry Detergent Review

by Connie
(Chicago, IL)

Connie has shared her baby laundry detergent review.

Connie says:

My favorite Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day product is the Baby Blossom laundry detergent.

The scent is very mild and didn’t bother my newborn son at all. I really enjoyed using it because it got my son’s clothes amazingly clean. It took out the spit up stains and was really gentle.

His clothes weren’t faded at all. Not only that but it made them feel really soft, so I knew it wouldn’t irritate his skin in the least bit.

Initially I was skeptical about purchasing this product because of the price, 14 dollars seemed a little on the expensive side to me, but the friend who recommended it to me insisted, and now I am absolutely in love with it!

I really recommend this product to people with young children. It feels good against the skin and helps remove stains that only a child seems to be able to produce.

If you have kids and are looking for a good laundry detergent, Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day Baby Blossom Laundry Detergent is definitely the way to go.

Taylor says:

Thanks for sharing your baby laundry detergent review Connie.
