Great Value Rinse Agent Review {Taylor's Experiences}

Here is my own review of Great Value Rinse Agent for use in my dishwasher. I recently finished the bottle that says it lasts for 150 washloads, so I thought I'd share my thoughts about Wal-Mart's version of this product.
Taylor's Review:
I have been in cost-savings mode here in my home for quite some time, so I've really been researching and testing lots of lower-cost cleaning and laundry supplies to see which ones work well, and where I need to actually spend the money for a more expensive product.
This lead me to purchase the Great Value brand of rinse aid for my dishwasher several months ago, instead of the
Jet Dry that my dishwasher's rinse aid container says I should fill it with. (That bugs me, by the way, that the appliance suggests only one expensive brand will work in your machine when that just can't or shouldn't be true!)
Sometimes you can combine a
coupon and a sale and Jet Dry, or another national brand of rinse agent cheaper, but if you don't have a coupon using a store brand, such as the Great Value brand at Wal-Mart, can be a good cost savings strategy. Well, at least it can be a good strategy if the product works as well as the name brand item.
I have now finished this bottle of dishwasher rinse agent, and it lasted for about 150 loads, just like it said, so I think I used it for about 4-5 months, meaning you can be assured I tested it thoroughly. (I typically need to run my dishwasher daily, or sometimes more than once a day.)
My verdict: I'll buy Great Value Rinse Agent again. In fact, I'll never go back to buying the name brands again for rinse aid, unless I have a coupon making the national brand cheaper! That is because I noticed no difference at all between the products in how they performed, smelled, looked, or anything else.
To be clear, I didn't think this product was better, just not worse or even very different than the more expensive alternatives. I would happily try another store brand's version some time if I happened to need rinse aid and I was in another store besides Wal-Mart.
Sometimes the generic or store brand version doesn't work as well, but in my opinion this is not one of those times. It will now be used, along with my Great Value powdered dishwasher detergent that I use instead of the name brands in my machine, and I still get nice clean dishes after each load!
Do you use any Great Value cleaning or laundry supplies? If so, I would love to hear how they worked for you, and whether you think they work as well as name brands, or not. You can
