There are lots of possible ways to clean your blinds, to remove the dust that seems to accumulate on them with time.

So, for example, you could just use a regular duster or a damp rag to remove the dust. The problem everyone encounters though when using these methods is that it takes forever, and is very tedious.

There are lots of possible ways to clean your blinds, to remove the dust that seems to accumulate on them with time.

So, for example, you could just use a regular duster or a damp rag to remove the dust. The problem everyone encounters though when using these methods is that it takes forever, and is very tedious.

After all, there are quite a few slats to clean, and you've got to remove the dust from both the front and the back of each slat. That's a lot of rubbing and dusting, especially for blinds where the dust seems to be a bit greasy or sticky, as especially happens in the kitchen and bath because of moisture and cooking oils in the air.

In those instances, with this sticky dust, a light brush with a duster won't be sufficient. You've really got to rub to get the dust off. And yes, you can take the blinds off, wash them either outside with a hose and a scrub brush, or in the bathtub, but the thought of it is exhausting, much less doing it.

So what's a person to do? The answer -- use a window blind cleaner that can clean between the slats and make the job quicker.

You can see what I mean to the right in the image, and also with the example products below.

The question you may be wondering is, do these products really work? I'll be honest. They are not going to clean as well as taking the blinds down and scrubbing them well, but they do work pretty well, it is much easier, and if you do it more frequently they won't get so greasy and dusty that you need to wash them as frequently. So they have their uses.

Below is a video I found on YouTube where a woman and her son both use one of these blind cleaners to clean the dust from the blinds. It's a five minute video, and frankly you don't need to watch it all. But it demonstrates how you can use the duster (she specifically uses this one) to remove dust, and then she shows how she cleans the duster, and also how she can also use the duster, wet, to clean the blinds without removing them and scrubing them.

Window blind cleaner reviews and recommendations, with a discussion of what products and cleaning tools make cleaning blinds a bit less of a hassle {on Stain Removal 101}

There are all kinds of window blinds, including wooden or metal ones, and also mini blinds, venetian, and more.

All blinds seem to have one thing in common though -- they are hard to clean, and seem to collect dust and almost an oily film on them, especially if they are in the kitchen.

There are all kinds of cleaning products and equipment on the market which are designed to clean these hard to clean items in your home.

Please share your reviews with me to tell me which ones work well for you (or don't) to help us all know which ones to buy, and which to leave on the store shelf.
